When Heather Sumner was an incoming student at Ivy Tech in Sellersburg, she had to decide early on if she wanted to earn more than just an associate's degree.
"I was planning basically two years in advance what classes I was going to take," said Sumner, 33, of New Albany, explaining that she was careful to make sure a class would transfer to IU Southeast before she would enroll.
Thanks to her detailed planning, Sumner will continue her studies without much of a hitch at IUS this fall, where she will double major in management and accounting.
An agreement reached between Indiana University and the Ivy Tech Community College system will make the transition smoother for students following in Sumner's footsteps.
